Calculator antenana cubical quard
Why do I come up with a different measurement for the driven element than these calculators if it is cut at one wavelength?
If wavelength=c/f, and I am using wavelength=299792458m/s/465137500Hz I get 0.6445243783m, or 64.4cm. Your calculator tells me to cut it at 65.9cm.
I know that copper wire has a velocity factor (VF) of 95% in free space, and if I allow for that the difference in the result is even greater.
Am I missing something here?
Trying to figure this all out before I start to build my antenna. I understand the dimensions become more critical as the frequency increases into the UHF and above.
I greatly appreciate any assistance you can give me and a sincere thank you in advance….
