The mount shown in the pictures is a jack used on the tongue of a trailer(boat, utility, ect.) If I am not mistaken they should be found in the RV/Automotive/Boat department of Walmart for somewhere around $20 to $40. You will then have to figure out how to take the crank (notice the hole drilled through on end of the mount) and the lower leg and wheel assembly(the end where the antenna actually mounts). Great design, I’ll have to try it myself, I was looking for a good “stealth” 40m antenna!

you have a very informative site, just want to ask anyone, i have a antenna tuner AT 130 can i just put a 23 ft antenna element across my roof mounted horizontally to conceal it

I am going to try this design in an effort to keep all of my yuppie neighbors and the city officials in a happy place. I was going to use a Marine Ratchet Type Deck Antenna Mount as an application for the swivel mount. I know that some of your readers were having a bit of difficulty trying to locate the swivel mount that you used and I was just offering this as a viable substitute. Thanks for the articles!!

I enjoyed your article and am looking for a low profile 2 meter antenna assembly I can easily put up at night and take down after use. I liked the use of the swivel assembly. Where can one can one purchase a swivel assembly? Are they in hardware stores, and for what purpose are they available?

I really like the latch/tilt mechanism, shows that a simplistic design is best. 40 meters is also one of my favorites.
